The Board of Directors at the MADE BY Foundation has a multi stakeholder structure, comprising representatives from brands, producers and civil society organisations.

The MADE BY Foundation in the Netherlands wholly owns the MADE BY entities in Germany and the UK. In 2016 Sabine Ritter was appointed CEO of the Foundation. The CEO of MADE BY reports to the Board.

The members of the Board of Directors participate on a voluntary basis. They receive no remuneration for their participation and they are partially reimbursed for out-of-pocket travel expenses to attend board meetings.


Simon Usher

Simon Usher, Bonsucro

Simon serves as chairman of MADE-BY’s board. Simon was appointed Bonsucro’s Chief Executive by the Board of Directors in October 2014. Simon is responsible for all aspects of managing and developing Bonsucro including refreshing its strategic plan.

Simon is a highly experienced strategist and change agent. Simon has worked at the highest levels in all three sectors (public, private and not-for-profit). His experience spans global organisation and local entity strategy, business development, complex partnering (including mergers) and change projects.

With both senior management and consultancy experience, Simon understands how to enable talented teams to perform to their potential.


Amy Hall

Amy Hall, EILEEN FISHER

As Director of Social Consciousness and a member of the Leadership Forum for women’s clothing designer EILEEN FISHER, Amy supports the company’s efforts to practice “business as a movement.” Amy collaborates internally and externally to guide the company toward ever-increasing human, environmental and economic sustainability, including co-leading the company’s Vision2020 work. She also co-leads the company’s People and Culture area, together with leaders of the Human Resources, Leadership Learning & Development and Internal Communications teams. Amy chairs the advisory board of Social Accountability International and serves on the boards of MADE-BY and the American Sustainable Business Council. Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, an M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a sustainable M.B.A. from Green Mountain College. In 2011, Amy rode from New York City to Washington, DC, on her self-built bamboo bike as part of the Brita Climate Ride.


Elizabeth Bury

Elizabeth ‘Buzz’ Bury, Eden McCallum

Buzz Bury is a Senior Manager at Eden McCallum where she is responsible for building the talent pool of independent consultants and shaping project delivery teams. Previously she was an Expert and Associate Principal in McKinsey & Company’s London Office, where she worked primarily with healthcare and public sector clients. She has previously also worked with FARM-Africa supporting them in business planning, was a consultant to Technoserve in Kenya and the Wildlife Conservation Society in New York, and worked with NTL. Buzz has an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York, and studied Economics and Management at Oxford University.


Erik de Wit

Erik de Wit, rose&vanilla

Erik is a social entrepreneur. Since April 2017 he has been scaling up rose&vanilla, a gluten- and lactose-free bakery in the Netherlands he co-founded with his wife Daphne.

Erik has 20 years of experience in new business, strategy development, product development, global branding, marketing and communications. He’s a strategic and creative thinker, a team player with a pragmatic and results-driven approach. His management experience spans corporates (Ahold), CSOs (Solidaridad) and start-ups.

It’s Erik’s passion to realise impact through developing, implementing and scaling up sustainable and disruptive concepts in food and other sectors, like MADE-BY.
