The Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Cradle to Cradle Innovation Institute have announced a formal collaboration between the two organisations. The two institutes have already been working together during the past two years, but have only now announced an official partnership aimed towards furthering the transition towards a circular economy.

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute will share with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation its knowledge around material health and reutilisation that it has built during the past few years. The Institute will also participate in the development of new tools to be a part of the Circular Economy 100 project, a pre-competitive innovation programme started by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

The President of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, Lewis Perkins, said of the partnership: “We believe collaboration is critical to accelerating progress towards the circular economy. We look forward to leveraging our shared creativity, innovation and optimistic approach to accelerating the circular economy and creating a more positive future for our planet.” Chief Executive Officer of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Andrew Morlet, said: “Cradle to Cradle is one of the key schools of thought underpinning the circular economy framework. Through this deeper collaboration the Cradle to Cradle Product Innovation Institute will contribute its expertise across a number of important programmes and initiatives that the Ellen MacArthur Foundation is driving to accelerate the transition towards an economy that is restorative and regenerative by design.”
