100% Organic Cotton, as their name suggests, produce all their garments with 100% organic cotton material, predominantly focusing on basic t-shirts and polo shirts for men and women. Since partnering with MADE-BY in 2006, they have been committed to not only producing with 100% organic cotton, but they also produce all their products in Class A factories.
Social Conditions in Factories In 2010, 100% Organic Cotton continued to produce their complete collection in India with suppliers that are all SA8000 certified, scoring 100% Class A in their Social Scorecard. To read about one of 100% Organic Cotton’s suppliers in India, see the interview with Rajat from Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills on page 16 of our 2010 Annual Report. Furthermore, 100% Organic Cotton continued to have all their styles traceable online through MADE-BY’s ‘Track&Trace’ system, allowing the consumer to see the full chain involved in producing a 100% Organic Cotton garment.
Environmental Impact of Raw Materials All garments in 100% Organic Cotton’s collection are produced using organic cotton, a Class B fibre, with a very low percentage of elastane blended into the material in order to add stretch into their garments. Most of their organic cotton is sourced from the Chetna Organic project in India, which was set up by Dutch NGO Solidaridad and is Fair Trade certified.
