For more than twenty years G-Star has been a denim pioneer known for its cutting edge style in the world of denim. By pushing boundaries, G-Star gained a strong following worldwide with approximately 6000 points of sale in 68 countries. 'Just the product' has always been G-Star’s philosophy and market approach, which is reflected in the brand’s focus on craftsmanship, quality and constant innovation. G-Star realises that its success also marks a responsibility to the social and environmental implications of its supply chain. This consideration led to the development of G-Star’s Corporate Responsibility policy, defining a strategy towards a sustainable production of its collection. |
Frouke Bruinsma, G-Star Corporate Responsibility Manager explains: “Being a forward looking company that wants to continue making iconic products in the future, G-Star acknowledges the need to look into sustainable solutions that enable us to do so.” G-Star has developed and improved its CR policy and now, four and a half years later, G-Star takes its commitment to sustainability a step further by partnering with MADE-BY. “We are committed to strive towards a sustainable evolution of our product,” says Frouke Bruinsma. In order to continue to make progress, G-Star aims to gradually increase the use of sustainable materials in its collection and wants to positively contribute to the working conditions of the people making its products. MADE-BY supports and verifies the implementation of G-Star’s CR policy and monitors the progress in a transparent manner. |
