Imps&Elfs is a childrenswear brand whose core philosophy is to work responsibly. That’s why Imps&Elfs have been a long standing partner of MADE-BY, working together to improve the social and environmental impact of their Sleep, Walk and Talk collections, since 2005. Imps&Elfs believe in a transparent business model, which means that styles can be traced through the MADE-BY online ‘Track&Trace’ tool.

Social Conditions in Factories
Imps&Elfs are committed to their supply base and place larger orders with factories that are compliant to social standards classified as Class A in MADEBY’s Benchmark, such as their SA8000 certified supplier for their woven collection in India. One of their suppliers lost its BSCI certification status in 2010 and Imps&Elfs are currently working in conjunction with the supplier and MADE-BY to renew this status. This loss of certification is reflected in their 2010 Scorecard. For 2011, Imps&Elfs have refocused their sourcing strategy, aiming to work mainly with Class A and B standard suppliers in the future.

Environmental Impact of Raw Materials
Imps&Elfs are proud that their cotton collections are almost entirely made from certified organic cotton (74%). In 2010 this effort was progressed into light wovens, increasing their organic cotton consumption by two thirds.
