The people of Central and South America have always considered the hammock as a godsend. Christopher Columbus is credited with being responsible for bringing it, the embodiment of Latin American sleeping culture, back to Europe. These gorgeous products, which today are found not only between trees but also in homes and apartments, symbolise a peaceful place to relax in a world that has become ever more hectic.

The products of La Siesta enable the user to relax and rejuvenate their senses. The company follows the principles of sustainability and has been converting increasingly to ecologically sound products made with certified organic cotton.

La Siesta strongly supports the conservation of traditional handcrafts. It works closely with local partners in regions that have a typical hammock culture –predominantly in South America – to produce its product range.

La Siesta is based in Jugenheim, a small village in the vineyards southwest of Mainz, in Germany.
