In 2004 Chantal Kobus and Evelien Vlasblom started Moodstreet in the Netherlands. Moodstreet makes contemporary, exciting and slightly cheeky clothing for boys and girls aged between 2 and 10 years of age. Younger children are catered for by the sister brands and MADE-BY partners, Little Feet and XS Feet. Moodstreet, like Little Feet and XS Feet, is a subsidiary of the larger parent company, Jolo Fashion, one of the leading names in children’s fashion production. Beautiful, colourful fabrics are mixed together by Moodstreet designers to provide an exciting and surprising style that looks to perfectly match the current street ‘scene’ in the Netherlands. The designs are inspired by the experience of children in the playground and in the street, where their dreams and fantasies become a reality. Moodstreet has a worldly outlook and an active imagination, but trades in a fair and socially responsible way. |
“For us, sustainability means trading with heart and conscience” says Moodstreet founder Evelien Vlasblom. “We think it is important that the production process is transparent from the cotton farmer through to the cotton spinner. We also want to work with organic cotton as much as possible. Nobody is happy about the fact that cotton cultivation produces so much pollution. If we visit our factories during the purchasing process, we want to be able to look the workers in the eye. It is, therefore, also very important that as many customers as possible are familiar with the concept of sustainable production, because demand will then intensify and support will increase”. |
