Kidswear brand Moodstreet was born in 2004 and became a MADE-BY partner brand at the end of 2007. From initially only producing clothes for kids between the age of 2-10, the brand has now expanded into a further two labels, Little Feet (for toddlers) and XS Feet (for babies). In 2009, MADEBY created two separate Scorecards for Moodstreet and Little Feet, however this year (since XS Feet joined), MADE-BY have created a joint Scorecard covering all three labels, showing the overall impact and status quo of the Moodstreet brand.
Social Conditions in Factories Moodstreet, Little Feet and XS Feet are subsidiaries of a larger kidswear parent company, Jolo Fashion, who also act as an agent and source all products on behalf of the Moodstreet labels. Predominantly their production takes place in China, with a small percentage produced in India. Currently their Scorecard continues to be 100% unclassified. This is mainly due to their limited facilities and leverage at present, however, a gap-analysis was carried out by MADE-BY with one of their main suppliers in 2010 and the Moodstreet team are being trained in liaising with their suppliers in order to gain a better understanding and build relationships that can facilitate the improvement of social conditions in their factories.
Environmental Impact of Raw Materials Jointly, Moodstreet, Little Feet and XS Feet produce 57% of their collections using organic cotton (a Class B fibre), which is sourced from an organic cotton farming project and a certified organic yarn spinner in China, a chain that was initiated by Jolo Fashion in collaboration with Dutch NGO and MADE-BY founder Solidaridad. Their remaining collection is made up of conventional cotton (Class E) and polyester (a Class D).
