Coming from a retail background the Barcelona based founders of Limobasics envisaged a collection of basic garments that are available in various colours that could be combined with and complement other brands in any child’s wardrobe. The philosophy of Limobasics is: “Back to basics, back to the essence of the garment.” With a focus on newborn and babies from size 0 to 24 months and with a few items designed specifically for children up to 5-years-of-age, Fieke de Wert designed Limobasics with the aim of being a “must have” basic for any child’s wardrobe. Rompers, pyjamas, t-shirts, trousers and many accessories are included in the current collection of cool baby basics in a delicious “We have been looking at what happens around the industry in regard to sustainability and have been asking ourselves, what can we do as a small brand?” says Olaf de Boer, co-owner and founder of Limobasics. |
“We might not have as big an impact as the larger brands, but MADE-BY has made it clear that this progression is not only about us becoming more responsible and sustainable, but also about setting an example for others to follow”. Limobasics’ collections have been made in the European Union since their launch in 2003 and since July 2009 have predominantly been manufactured using organic cotton in the textile production. Limobasics is available in stores across Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and is also available from select retailers in other countries, including the UK. Limobasics also runs the well-known Limobebe store online and in Barcelona, where a number of other MADE-BY partner brands, such as Imps&Elfs, and Kik-Kid are stocked. |
