Limobasics is a Spanish baby and kidswear brand that was established back in 2003 in response to a market gap for baby basics in Spain. They believe in producing durable and high quality products and therefore include additional elements and components with their products, such as spare buttons and extra reinforcements in areas of garments that are prone to tearing, in order to increase the product’s life and minimise their environmental impact. In April 2010 Limobasics became a MADE-BY partner brand.
Social Conditions in Factories Limobasics produce all their products in European low risk countries Portugal and Hungary. With the aim of increased quality control and flexibility with their suppliers, Limobasics have made a conscious decision not to produce in Asia. Apart from the added benefit of having smaller minimum order quantities with European suppliers, there is also the additional advantage of having a lower environmental impact in the transportation stage of the product lifecycle.
Environmental Impact of Raw Materials Limobasics’ 2010 collection was predominantly produced using organic cotton (representing 96% Class B fibre), sourced from Portugal, with the remainder of their collection made with conventional cotton (Class E), polyester (Class D) and a small proportion of elastane for stretch (unclassified).
