The rate at which video games are becoming a staple in every household is, if anything, interesting to see. Added to the fact that many countries are under lockdown, going out of their homes to buy gamers is risky and almost impossible.
It is no hidden fact that Mac computers are not known for their gaming prowess. Although do not come cheap, there are not many games one can play on them. In fact, Windows computers that are similarly priced can play an insane number of games. However, the fact that Mac laptops are not known for their gaming prowess does not mean you cannot game on them. Many games playable on windows pc are gradually being ported to macOS.
As a result of this, we decided to compile a list of truly free games on Mac that you can download online. Just so you know, though some of the games on this list are 100% free, they do have in-game microtransactions. This is to ensure you enjoy the video game to its max. That said, all the games on this list are free-to-play or at least 100 percent free to download and enjoy.

necessary for you to engage other players in combat. The game can be pretty brutal especially if you are new to it. This is because the game is more than a Battle Royale game. But once you get a hang of the building mechanics that makes it special and makes killing your opponents even harder, things become more interesting.
Though it is a free to play game, you can also unlock cool and unique skins using real money.

Instead, they are based on the Elder scroll universe.

League of Legends is one of the most played Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games right now.The objective of the game is simple. Team up with other players and attack the enemy team. The items you gain can be used to increase your character's abilities and powers. There are more than 100 champions to choose from and more are being released with new updates.
Although League of Legends is one of the most successful MOBA games available, it can be pretty hard for newbies to get used to. The game is very competitive and is it even has a competitive scene where pros battle it out in tournaments.

This is a MOBA video game developed as the continuing game to Defense of the Ancients. Dota 2 is a lot like League of Legends though more complex and less dynamic. The sole objective here also is to destroy the base of your opponents.
You have to choose from a list of heroes and team up with other players in a matchmaking system. One of the few things that makes DOTA 2 unique is that you do not have to grind for the heroes you use. All the heroes are available at the start of the game.

While the game was originally priced at $59.99 during its release, there is now a free to play version of the game. The free version lets you play one of the most interesting campaigns in the game. It also lets you play ranked multiplayer matches, as well as co-op commander matches.

Even the gameplay is a lot similar to that of Age of Empires. You have to train up your armies and carry out research to develop high technology brilliant enough to take down other player's armies.
O.A.D has both single and multiplayer modes. The single-player mode lets you develop your skills, which will come handy when in real-time combat with other players in multiplayer mode.
